This trail is an easy and beautiful 2.55 km linear walk in Terra Nova National Park that can be accessed from either the Southwest Arm turnoff or the Southwest Brook rest area. The trail is very well maintained and has lovely scenery of Southwest Brook and the surrounding woods. It runs parallel to the brook for the most part and crosses over it at one point with a suspension bridge. If you are so inclined to sit on a rock and dangle your feet in the water, there are ample chances to do so. We saw many different plants and fungi, as my niece, Leonora, explains in her videos.
We did it with a 2-year-old and a 74-year-old and neither of them had any trouble at all. We parked a car on either end (so we didn’t do the 4 km Leonora stated in the video), but we could easily have turned around and gone back and everyone still would have been fine.
And of course, no hike is complete without a snack.
